About LUMA days

LUMA days is a public engagement platform of atelier LUMA and the LUMA Foundation. Located at the intersection of art, design, technology, activism and ecology, LUMA days acts as a mediator between local and global. The LUMA days draw credible and sustainable scenarios thanks to the implementation of creative and collaborative processes.

In 2017, the stage is set to explore scenarios for the city of Arles and its rural context. Bringing together international and local experts and influencers, the weeklong workshops will reflect on the possibilities and opportunities of five future city scenarios - City of Culture & Agriculture, City as Campus, 21st Century Factory Town, UNESCO City 3.0, and The Global Village.

The project’s idea is to imagine scenarios for the future of the city around the themes of Waste, Food, Education, Mobility, Production and Hospitality, with special consideration for the environment, public-private cooperation, sustainability, and the future of work.
